Le Crępe Chignon, founded in 1998, is operated by two young women from Rimouski. Their mission is to provide a refreshing, comfortable, relaxed space where customers are warmly welcomed, the door is open to all, and personalized meals are served. Our name: "Crępe Chignon" was taken from a XIXth century expression "crępage du chignon" (nagging, nattering, complaining), meaning "a fight between women". |

Just mention crępes, and joyful thoughts of parties come to mind. Who made the first crępes ? They say that their origin dates back to the 5th century, when Pope Gelasius, looking for a way to reward tired pilgrims arriving in Rome, ordered that all the eggs and flour be brought forth. These were made into small cakes - the very first Candlemas crępes! These days, any time is a good time to prepare these easy, friendly, infinitely variable, sweet or savoury culinary delights. |
